Cate Blanchett visits Philip Seymour Hoffman's former apartment with gifts

A teary-eyed Cate Blanchett arrived at the former Jane St. apartment of Philip Seymour Hoffman carrying gifts, which were likely for the late actors three children.

There were tears in actress Cate Blanchetts eyes Monday when she arrived at the West Village apartment building that Philip Seymour Hoffman once called home.

Dressed in black, the Oscar-winner emerged from a black Cadillac and with the help of an assistant she removed a boxed telescope apparently a gift the oldest of Hoffmans now fatherless children, 10-year-old Cooper.

Blanchett and her assistant brought toys, games and a telescope to the apartment building where the late Philip Seymour Hoffman once lived.

They also took out two large bags that appeared to be toys and games from Hoffmans daughters, Tallulah, 7, and Willa, 5, and carried them inside the Jane Street building.
